Helpful Information

This page is for helpful information about the wiki! It will try to answer your questions or link you to wherever you should be for help. If you can't seem to find what you need, please PM me, or AZF Admin.

The wiki isn't a forum of messages that you have posted in the boxes at the bottem. If you see someone doing this then can you please tell them not to? This is here because it is a helpful thing to know.

To the bottom left of your post you will see a box. It is titled "Short description of changes:" In it you should provide an explanation of what you have done to the page and/or why you edited it. It is helpful to do this because then people will know what you did to the page. It should only be a short description telling what you did, not a very long one.

You only have 15 minutes until you will be taken away from the page and someone else will be allowed to edit it. This is so that one person can work, but if they don't do anything then it will allow someone else to go and edit the page. Please don't override someone elses lock, this is rude and frustrating.

The "History" button on the gray bar at the top will show you who has edited your current page in the past. On the right when viewing History it will tell you what the person said when they edited the page, and in the middlish it will say the date. The V, S, and R all have a special meaning. If you click the V, you can view what is on the page even if you aren't editing it. If you click S, you can see the source, this means see what was there BEFORE the edit. R stand for Revert, this is only in cases if you want to replace something and not have the data after the edit there. Simply click on the R before the edit. On the left you can see 2 boxes with a circle in it, click on other circles without the green and then click "Compare Versions" to compare them. Regular text stayed and wasn't changed, red is deleted text, bluish/purple is added text.

Also on the top gray bar next to "History" you will see "Tags". The tags are what the page is about, please don't make up your own tags very often, unless they seem 100% reasonable. If you want to see all the current tags, look in the rotating sphere below:

The "Source" button I explained 2 paragraphs above.

The "Explore" button will make you randomly visit another wikidot site. It will not be about the AZF and will be about other things. From searching on that most of the time a wiki for a school district will come up, I recommend not using this as it is at no use to you unless you wish to see other wikidot sites.

On the bottem of pages you will see an "Edit" button. This is like the one on the gray bar and will allow you to edit the page, if it isn't locked.

The "Tags" button is on the bottom as well. It works the same way as the one on the gray bar:

The "Print" option will allow you to print the current page you are on.

Site Tools will display tools for the site. Your 2 options are:
Wanted Pages
this is a list of pages that do not exist but there are links that point to them.
Orphaned Pages
is the list of pages that do not have any incoming links from other pages - at least internal links produced by syntax

[[[page-name]]]

. If a page is listed here it should not mean anything wrong because there might be special pages that do not (and should not as e.g. some forum pages) have incoming links. But it is recommended to check this list from time to time.

"Options" is a list of things you can do to the current page you are on.
